- Property owners should start by filing a claim with their insurance company to ensure a timely response during the rebuild process.
- Verify the status of the property
- Find the property on the Rapid Evaluation Safety Assessment (RESA) map to ensure it is accurately marked.
- If there is an error, please let us know via the SoCo Report It tool.
- Remove Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) from the property
- A sweep of HHW will be completed by government agency at no cost to property owners.
- Mark Septic System and Water Well Locations
- It is important to mark the septic system and water well location before fire debris removal starts.
- Remove Fire Debris from the property
- Fire Debris Removal should be completed after HHW removal is complete
Note: A Grading Permit is not required for Debris Removal
